About Me
I am a counsellor, a mother of three, tantra practitioner, and trained birth doula. I was born and raised on the prairies in the small, farming hamlet of Justice, north of Brandon, Manitoba. As a young child staring out my window at the vast prairie night sky, an early and intense interest in the human experience was ignited in me that solidified my path toward an exploration of the nature of consciousness and a career in counselling.
While completing my undergrad in Psychology, I studied the impact of movement and yoga on women's health. I later embarked upon graduate studies while raising my small children on a homestead and working full time in the field of mental health. Cumulatively, I have over 14 years of counselling experience.
My Role As A Counsellor
In my role as a counsellor, I strive to create a deeply nurturing and safe space from which to explore life’s challenges. I recognize that all people have the capacity to transform suffering into great wisdom and I support my clients in creating conditions in their lives ripe for this transformation to take place. I feel blessed that I have the capacity to work in a profession that supports our community's wellness.
Each client I work with offers an opportunity to connect and learn in new ways. I am so honored by the individuals with whom I share the sacred space of counselling.
I work with clients to create an individualized approach to counselling that moves them through self-discovery to reach their goals and find overall well-being.
Experience and Specializations
I have worked extensively with youth, specializing in anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional regulation, sexual identity, and grief. I am passionate about allowing my clients to explore the thoughts, feelings, and sensations they are having through mindfulness and self-compassion to allow themselves space to explore what is happening within them. About Me
I currently reside in rural Manitoba and I am a mother of two children (10 & 13) who continue to keep me busy and teach me more about life each day. I am currently a senior years’ guidance counsellor and a Canadian Certified Counsellor.
I was raised in North Western Ontario and I spent a majority of my childhood with nature, water, and horses. I feel privileged to now be able to share this love with my family. You can find me camping in the summer with my family, enjoying extensive hours on my paddleboard with my dog, Ellie, or at the softball field with my daughter. In the winter you can find me out hiking, downhill skiing, snowshoeing, or in a hockey rink with my son.
