Meet Grace Roosen, a new practicum counsellor supporting children, youth and adults in Erickson and Neepawa
We are honoured to welcome a new team member to Grit & Growth Wellness. Grace Roosen has joined our counselling team as a Practicum Student and is now accepting new clients across Erickson, Neepawa, and virtually throughout Manitoba.
Grace is currently completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology through Yorkville University. As part of her practicum, she is offering counselling sessions at a reduced rate of $80 per 50-minute session. This is a wonderful opportunity for clients seeking affordable and compassionate support from a trauma-informed, heart-led practitioner.
A Bit About Grace
Grace is a proud Métis woman on a journey of reconnecting with her roots. Raised in rural Manitoba and surrounded by nature and family, her deep connection to land and community is reflected in her counselling work today.
Outside of her role as a counsellor, Grace is a passionate creative—she spends her downtime sculpting, beading, painting, or curled up with her cats and a good book. You might also find her hiking with her two dogs or exploring the outdoors in search of inspiration.
Grace’s Counselling Style
As a counsellor, Grace creates a safe, warm, and collaborative environment where clients of all ages can feel heard and supported. She believes in the power of self-awareness and that every individual carries wisdom that deserves to be honoured in the healing process.
Grace works with children, youth, and adults, using a blend of holistic practices like meditation and breathwork, alongside evidence-based approaches including:
- Person-Centered Therapy
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Mindfulness-Based Therapy
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Solution-Focused Therapy
- Humanistic and Adlerian approaches
Her areas of interest include anxiety, trauma, grief, emotional regulation, and identity work.
